The Working From Home Essentials You Need

Hello There! I hope all is well with you since you last read this blog. We are still in the midst of a pandemic and many of us are still working from home. Also, many of us are working from home AND taking care of children and their new way of attending school.

Working From Home Essentials
Cute Loungewear will continue to be a staple this year.

Number one on my list is to actually get dressed. I didn’t take this seriously until I had to take Google Meets and Zoom calls throughout the day. My go-to for cute two-piece loungewear sets is Trendy Chix Boutique. On days when I am not wearing a set, I’ll throw on a graphic tee/sweatshirt with biker shorts. This is perfect since they can only see the top half anyway! Just getting out of the pajamas and into something else, shifts the mindset for the day even if I’m not leaving the house. Don’t forget to use 3THECHICWAY for a discount when shopping at Trendy Chix!

Dreaming of an office in my next house!

Second up, a designated workspace is a major key for focus. At the moment, I bounce between my IKEA laptop stand in the living room and the dining table. It’s not the ideal office space, but it will work for now. The kids use the dining table for school as well since they are attending school virtually at the moment. Anything is more productive than working from bed, though I’ve done that a few days as well. This laptop riser I purchased from Amazon is also a lifesaver from having to bend your neck at all times and brings the laptop up to eye level. I also love to light candles throughout the day. It definitely helps calm the mind and aromatherapy is my favorite form of stress relief.

Blue Light Glasses, but make it fashion!

An essential even if you wear prescription lenses or not are Blue Light protection glasses. If you are sitting in front of a screen for hours upon hours at a time, your head and eyes can start to hurt. These glasses have a filter in them that protects your eyes from the light of the screens, whether that’s a computer, tablet, or phone. I recently invested in 4 pairs of blue light glasses with my prescription, you guys know I’m a sucker for glasses and a girl needs options!

Work From Home Essentials

I can not live without my AirPods. Currently, I am working on 2 projects at the same time. Both projects require me to listen to edits over and over and make changes/suggestions. With the kids at home, I can use my AirPod Pros to block out the surrounding noise and really zone in on work. While we are here, let’s have a shameless plug moment. Check out The Carlos Watson Show on YouTube daily and now I am pleased to have entered the podcast production world with, More Than That with Gia Peppers. Thanks in advance for your support!

Okay, one more thing about the AirPod Pros, yes I am that tech freak, they can switch simultaneously between devices. So If I’m listening to something on my Macbook, then I get a facetime call on my iPhone, they automatically detect where I need them!

Welcome to my Winter Wonderland

Last but not least. Something I am personally working on, getting out and staying active. It’s no secret that many of us are packing a few extra quarantine pounds, do what you can give yourself grace because no one truly knows what all is on the other’s plate. I recently started a weekly Zumba class with my friend TJ, reach out to her to be added to the list, the class is donation-based and happens every Saturday morning.

That’s all I have for now. Let me know in the comments how you are surviving your work from home life, what is essential for you?

Thank you for the Zumba class recommendation at Trendy Chix. Such a fun way to incorporate movement, especially now that it is cold. I also don’t know why it took so long to discover two piece sets! I will definitely be checking out your recommendation!
One of my go-to items is my oil diffuser. I keep a collection of oils so that I can make different scent combos whenever I feel like it.
