Orange You Glad It Fits?

So funny story. As many of you know, I get my Nigerian Ankara pieces custom made. This skirt came to me in July, and it couldn’t fit. Girl. I mean, It.Could.Not.Zip! This is to be expected when you get pieces back, sometimes the measurements are off, etc. This skirt came with a crop top, that can’t even fit my big toe, it looks like it was made for my niece. But I digress….

Fast forward,  it’s September and New York Fashion Week, is taking place as I type this. I knew I had to get my life in order, because your girl is walking in a NYFW runway show very soon. I GAG!!! So with a bit of clean eating and a real conscious effort to look my best, guess what fits this time around? There’s no hope for the top, so I paired it with this tank top from Club Monaco.

I got sooooo many compliments as I strolled through the streets of NYC today. I also got asked if I was going somewhere nice. One thing I don’t subscribe to, is waiting for a “special occasion”, to dress up. It’s Saturday, i’m alive, my brows are done, and it’s Fashion Week. Those are all the reasons I need. So I threw on my skirt and went along my merry way! It’s bright, printed and has pockets! Winning all around!
