Making The Right Money Moves

Sooooo as many of you may or may not know, I am a freelance television professional in the media industry. Also, blogging can be seen as a sort of a freelance project as well. Freelance means you get to pick and choose what jobs work for your lifestyle. In my case as a hands on Mom, working on the weekends, allows me time during the week to spend time with the boys, and tend to my household.

I get to attend the school plays, the field trips, help with homework, and to me those times I will never get back. On the flip side, I’m not making as much money as I could if I were to flip my schedule, work M-F, with weekends off. I take the time during the week to pick up brand collaborations, shoot content, network for the blogging industry etc.

The thing about it is, it’s all about what you accept and what you don’t. The minute you say NO to something, you wonder if you’ve burned that bridge with the company. In freelance land, saying NO, means you might not get a callback from that company EVER. I’ve turned down two very important offers in the last week, and it has me wondering….

Will they call me back in the future, even though they say so in the email. Have I burned my bridge with that brand? With it being the first couple weeks of school, it just wasn’t feasible with the boys schedule. Caleb & Joshua will always come first. I have a great support system, and they weren’t able to help me either. So I had no other choice but to turn the offers down, one was a TV “modeling” appearance for a national morning show, the other to be a “model” for a renowned makeup artist!

I didn’t apply for either opportunity, they both obtained my information from referrals! So I have to hold onto hope that referrals like that will somehow keep rolling in! I have to manifest positive energy about what I’m doing at all times. The going does get tough, my bank account can attest to that, but somehow we always make it work right? Not to get all spiritual with you, but it’s nothing but God! He is always on time, and I believe he will lead me in the right direction.

Keep doing what your heart tells you feels right, what feeds your soul. We will all find our way, if we haven’t already. Manifestation is real, so I have been writing down more of what I hope to accomplish. Things will get better, for all of us. Girl, I’m out here feeling so good, I’m wearing bodycon and tings. LOL!

Thanks so much for reading, as always stay chic!
