What’s In My Bag?

As a commuter in the Big Apple, I find it almost impossible to carry a small cross-body bag. I especially envy women I see on the train with them. I can only do that if I am going out in the evening, or for a special event. My Husband is always complaining that I carry too much crap, so I thought I’d share what’s in my bag with you all, to see if any if you are like me.

The essentials I always have in my bag, are my wallet, makeup bag, phone and headphones. I recently downsized a big portion of my makeup collection in an effort to get rid of clutter. This cosmetic bag used to be full to the brim, and unable to be zipped. Now it has so much more room and is lighter to carry. I can not be on the NYC subway without music; my headphones can not leave my side. We live in a mobile world now, so it’s no surprise that a smartphone is an essential!

My blogger essentials are my handy DSLR camera, and my laptop. I need these to get blog posts out while on the go. These are what really weigh my bag down the most, though I don’t carry them all the time. My bling laptop and phone cases are from Amazon.

You can not pound the pavement of NYC in heels all day. We all know once we do it for the ‘gram, we slip into those flats. I keep a pair in my bag to commute in, and change into my heels at work, or upon arrival to my destination!

Books can almost always be found in my bag as well. They are essential in passing the time during my commute. I am currently finishing up Luvvie Ajayi’s, I’m Judging You. I read today that it will be turned into a cable series via Shondaland!! How amazing is that?

That’s what’s in my bag! There are a few miscellaneous things at the bottom like snacks, change, keys , lotion, wipes and that type of stuff. What are you ladies carrying in your bag at the moment? Are you a hobo/tote, or a cross-body/clutch type of lady?

Let me know in the comments! As always, stay chic!
