What I Wore-New Year Edition

Happy New Year!!! Are we ready to tackle 2016, and be as chic as we have ever been? I am!!2016 will be the year of ME, the best ME I can be, and that’s not just about the physical. I want to be the best ME, internally and externally. To get things started, here’s how I brought in the New Year, fashion wise.

On New Year’s Eve, I donned this little Lipsy London dress, that I scored on Poshmark for about $12. I’m not sure of the original retail price, but a price tag never defined style, and how you feel inside! Can I get an AMEN?!  I chose to wear white, because it signifies: new beginnings, goodness, spirituality, and protection. All qualities I hope will follow me into 2016. I also love it because………….sequins!!! Of course, the little bling on the front was a winner for me. (refer to last post!)

Simple, chic, and classy. Check out Lipsy’s current selection of dresses here.

My husband’s church always has a big New Year Celebration, the first Saturday of every year. And it’s an event of pure glamour. The ladies don their best Native wear and go all out. I was fortunate enough to attend this year, and chose to mimic a Marchesa gown I saw on Nordstrom’s website. (The dress is no longer on the site, view similar styles here.)

Marchesa usually has some of my favorite looks on the Red Carpet during award season. A good tailor/seamstress can get you very close to any high fashion designer look you want, without breaking the bank!

Hope everyone had a great holiday, and wishing you all a chic 2016!!
