My natural hair has really inspired new wardrobe styles. I love to be a little Afro-Centric, while style maintaining my own personal funky edge. I recently attended a Jazmine Sullivan concert, at Irving Plaza in NYC. (Check her out, when she’s in your town, great show!) The tickets stated STANDING ROOM ONLY. My first instinct was comfort, comfort, and more comfort. But to me comfort should not compromise style.
I grabbed this Dashiki shirt/dress from my husband’s closet. As usual, he was looking at me like I was crazy! Gotta keep them guessing ladies LOL! I am not afraid of mixing patterns and colors, so I opted for my Nike Dunk Sky Hi Sneakers, cinched in the waist with a GAP belt that is too old for life, to give the shirt/dress some shape. This look would go great with some gladiator sandals as well, maybe next time! You can be a little more free with colors and patterns at concerts and festivals, so your outfit doesn’t have to make sense, as long as there is a flow to it. Be you, be bold!
