So I neverrrrrrrrrrrrr wear body con. Because just as the name implies, I am very conscious of my body and I refrain from showing it off in this silhouette. I am more of a shift dress, flowy bohemian type. Don’t get me wrong I love my curves, it’s what makes me a woman, but it’s just never been my thing.
I started off this year of 2016, as my personal “Year of Yes”, a la Shonda Rhimes. I took my brand more seriously, revamped my Instagram page, bought this website you all are a part of reading! I said this is it, I am gonna do what I have to do. The dream and the hustle are sold separately, but I believed that I can be one of the top influencers in my niche. So I set out on that journey, and really put myself out there.
The opportunity came along to model for Smart Glamour. A company that believes clothing should be made for every woman from size XXS to 6X. Not one size or body type left behind. I am all for that message and immediately applied. NOT A MODEL, but the ad said you didn’t need to be. They wanted real women, and after a few meetings with the line’s designer Mallorie Dunn, I was chosen! I shot images with her for her Fall Lookbook, and I will walk in the runway show! I GAG!!
I am here to show you, we are all beautiful. With my stretch marks, cellulite, sagging breasts, thick hips, small waist, big booty, no six pack stomach; I will be walking down a runway in New York Fashion Week, for the world to see! Whatever you are dreaming of doing, get up and do it! Don’t let anyone or anything hold you back! I kissed my insecurities goodbye, and to prove it, I am wearing this body-con dress! Embracing it all and being proud of my journey, while taking you all along for the ride!
The show will be live streamed tomorrow Friday, September 16th via Facebook Live. Please follow “Smart Glamour”, on Facebook for all the updates and details! I hope everyone will watch the show, as I live out my fashion dreams!
Thanks for everyone’s support and stay chic!
