3 Ways To Style A Kimono

Kimonos, robes, dusters, whatever you want to call them, are a huge trend this season. Today, let’s discuss the three ways I plan to style this one I scored from Shein.Com. As you can see it’s a print, I can’t stay away from prints, they speak to my soul. I was a little shocked when the package arrived, it’s slightly different from what appears on the website, but I digress.

Styling Option 1: Robe Wars. That’s right, wear it just as it appears, like a robe. Since it does come with the tie sash, you can get away with this looking like a very sexy wrap style dress. Add some strappy heels and you’re good to go!

Styling Option 2: Kimono over a Dress. I love pairing a Kimono over a midi dress or a slip dress. It adds a bit of pizazz to a rather boring look. For this look, I played off of the black trim on the kimono. Paired it with my Zara slip dress and my Zara Pearl Sandals for a dressed up casual vibe, that can go from daytime to an evening rooftop lituation.

Styling Option 3: Super Casual Cutoffs. On days when you want to amplify a plain tee shirt and shorts look, throw on that Kimono. It’s an easy way to appear as if you put effort into a look, when we all know the effort was minimal. I added my fur slides for a little extra punch for a daytime chic look.

Kimono styling options are endless, this would look great over a jumpsuit onesie situation, over a bathing suit, over jeans, the list goes on. Keep in mind also, the kimono doesn’t have to be printed, a solid colored Kimono can enhance your wardrobe as well!

I am definitely into the kimono trend. My favorite is option #1. I would wear the robe as a wrap dress and add a pop of color with the red heels.
