Bow Ties & Chuck Taylors

The boys and I attended a wedding recently and I was super excited to put their looks together. I started with the bow tie, they were gifted these ties about a year ago, and had yet to wear them.

In my mind I knew I wanted a suit look, and a smoking/velvet slipper. I had a hard time finding the shoe, so disappointing. The one I did find was over $200. Ridiculous for kids shoes, that won’t last long.

So I took the funky route, enter the Converse sneakers!! Something affordable and I knew we would get so many more uses out of, with summer right around the corner. Seriously how many formal events do they attend in a year?!

My look was based on a Jason Boateng dress from his Resort 2015 collection. I had this dress made in Nigeria, and toned the design down to suit my body and style. The shoes are Brian Atwood, retails for $390, scored on Depop for $65!!! Chic on a budget!!!
