Sweating Out-Three Styling Options

As far back as I can remember music has been a part of my life. A song is associated with a memory, a feeling, or a place! Today marks 20 years since the Notorious B.I.G. was killed in Los Angeles. TWENTY YEARS! I can’t believe it, as it stills feels like it happened recently.

The music from that era, the fashion, the styling, were amazing!  It was at this point I realized how much fashion and music go hand in hand with influencing the masses. A brand shout-out from your favorite artist, immediately puts that designer on your radar. A designer also sells his fashions down the runway to some of the hottest tracks on their playlist! As a tribute to one of my favorite rappers of all time, I am showing you three ways to style a sweatshirt.

My new fave thing to rock with my joggers are heels. When this trend came across my radar I was not here for it. But as the saying goes, don’t knock it til you try it! I wanted to funk up these skinny fit H&M joggers and the rest is history. It elevates the chicness of the look. Definitely rock this look if you’re celebrating Biggie’s legacy at a lounge or other casual environment.

For a play on school girl chic, I paired my sweatshirt with a printed pencil skirt and classic Converses! It’s a look I would wear to work, if you’re able to dress like this at your occupation. Equally as chic for a Brooklyn night on the town in honor of Christopher Wallace!

I couldn’t leave you without an ultra glam look! I wore a similar look to a Beyoncé concert a couple of years ago! Dressing up a sweatshirt with sequin shorts and thigh-high boots? Why not? I think this look is super fun while still being chic? Try to reimagine the sweatshirts in your wardrobe. They are not just for days when we want to hide our bloating, or our comfort when we don’t feel like getting dressed! Sweatshirts can be styled in many different ways to make a statement and express yourself!!

Which look can you see yourself in? Share your favorite Biggie song below, because his music and style will live on forever! As always stay chic!!
