Purple Rain! My 6 Favorite Purple Lippies

You all know how I feel about lipsticks. And if you know me, know me, you know purple is my favorite color. Today, I am sharing with you, six of my favorite purple lipsticks.

This is probably the darkest of the lippies I will show you. It was a stretch for me when I purchased, I thought I was too pale for this shade of lipstick. I am not wearing makeup of any sort in these photos, so all these shades are against my winter skin. She definitely looks better when I have a full face on, like in the photo below.

This next shade is a color that I received for free on National Lipstick Day from MAC last year. Damn right I stood in line before work for a free lipstick. Especially, after all the money I’ve spent at MAC over the years. The formula is not matte, but more of a satin finish, so it is not drying.

Moving onto more matte formulas. This one also from MAC, has long been a cult favorite. Heroine. She is one of my all-time favorite shades of purple and I wear her all the time. I have also bought the complimentary lipglass of the same name, for those days when you want to top her off with a little shine. See also, lipstick addict.

I have been a supporter of Fenty Beauty since Rihanna dropped the first glossbomb. You can not help but be appreciative of the way her line is inclusive of all shades of #blackgirlmagic. This is my third Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick from Fenty. This shade is Violet Fury, and she’s so dope! I love that she is vivid and the formula is matte but definitely not too dry. If matte lippies are a problem for you, always base your lips with chapstick before application.

Last but not least, I have a shade from an all natural, black-owned business. I have mentioned The Lip Bar before on my social media and here on the blog. I saw this shade first on Taraji P. Henson at an awards show and knew I had to have it in my collection. Her name is Prima Donna.
